Muladhara
The Root of the Tree
I did not anticipate this work nor the other 6 in this series. However, like many all inspirations when they come you are to act.
Speaking of action let’s dive in, shall we?
Inspiration
If I am frank I wrote an entire blog on chakras that you’ll find here. Reading that will give you more of the technical aspects of the chakras, In this series of articles, we will be exploring how their energies worked within my system to bring about their own creation.
Be warned we are going deep. It’ll be a bit intense, for the neophyte but is there anything more enjoyable than deep dives filled with intense love?
As I was wanting to dress it up, you know make it to be pretty and add images and such. Although, there were a great many beautiful works to choose I was left with a single thought.
“You can do your own.” From there, the rest is history.
I really wanted the sphere to seem as if it’s glowing or emanating this infinite source of energy from within. I wanted to do this with just painting in a big white sphere in the center… seemed too easy, too plain. At least that’s not what this series called for.
Once the sphere was complete, I moved onto the background in quick succession. Painting each of the chakras presented a challenge. Working in monotone.
That said I wanted to find a good honest balance between the different variants of red. My aim was not only to create a sense of depth within the piece to give this orb floating-esque energy but also to strike a good balance between the different tonal values.
Having felt that this was all accomplished I moved onto the energy line. This really brought the entire piece together. My aim here was not only to strike a better balance throughout the work of art by bringing a stronger more vibrant highlight. Also, to give the piece some movement, some fluidity. To give this sphere this sense of untameable. A potent vein of energy, this coiling around the sphere, is the tension and patience, this strong urge to be tapped into and utilized.
Like the coiled kundalini at the base of the spine, this Muladhara is coiled and wrapped in around itself waiting, pleading for you to tap and utilize.
I did say monotone… however I was inspired to bring an eye-popping color, this yellow here, to bring your attention to such a profoundly powerful symbol.
The root chakra is your foundation, the floor, sort of speak. Which brings in the square. the square is exceptionally archaic in its ability to build, to add strength and structure. You see it everywhere. Man’s playgrounds within cityscapes are rife with superb feats of will all through the foundational symbol of the square.
Diving a little deeper into this metaphor of the floor the foundation is the most important sphere to work upon first. Your body is a temple, it is the housing unit that makes up you, this energy center runs the checks and balances over this very foundation. All 7 of the sphere we will take a look at are the frameworks of your system, the being the base of that too which all else builds upon. As you go through your journey in life, especially for my practitioners, my conscious and aware being you’ll find yourself coming back to the basics time and time again. No matter how complex the situation is there are particular habits and or daily rituals you may that keep you just a little bit in this madhouse. That complexity adds difficulty, challenges that will seem near impossible to overcome without a good baseline to which you can come back to regroup.
A few fun bits:
As you continue to read Miei Pensenaris throughout this journey of mind you’ll notice my infatuation with symbolism. It’s not just the physical representations, but also the abstract, we touched a bit on that here, but as we continue we will get deeper, and relatively complex. For my neophytes sit back enjoy the ride pick up what you can.
These teaching I wish to share have been, in truth foundational lololol how coincidental. Foundational for where I am this present moment. By diving into the journies with me you’ll gain vast insight and perspective on how I perceive the world, why it has helped me, tackle all challenges, giving you leverage to your future endeavors. I wanted to start here with the 7 chakras because like the ‘Muladhara’ itself they are foundational to the entire system at which the whole of the uINverse, which includes, live, and thrive upon.
This piece was the first in the series of 7, but as I came to finish the series… many…many moments of inspiration came forth, like a great torrential downpour. This very piece was the spark. The slight unveiling of a rather beautiful, beautiful long love-filled journey, that I cant not wait to explore and play in. I truly do hope that not only have you enjoyed my thoughts on this particular work of art but also that you will continue this journey with me.
We are teachers’ students, let us be your teacher and walk you through my irrevocably intimate passion mine, from there I look forward to the moment you can back to me and share some knowledge so that you can feel what I feel when being the teacher.
What is a daily ritual that you perform that has really been able to keep you grounded?
