Manipura

The Infinite Sun

Okay, so we are 3rd in the series of 7 now. Which in its own right… is…. can you guess? Symbolic.

It’s the breaking point, the difference between life and death. The difference between continued success or damn destruction.

Why is this well, in short, the essence of the chakra at its most survivalist principle is that of survival, that flight or fight response. If you are weak-willed you may find yourself doing neither, being in a state of inaction. Didn’t Dante mention how neutrality was the worst sin of them all? It is stagnation, it goes against the very core that is you, which is movement. ENergy, chi, essence, bananas. Whatever you wish to call it. The building blocks of everything. This energy center is a dense mass of specific energy signature that works upon the subtle planes of the will. Having a weak will is that very damnation. Acting out your will, using that aggression is the success. Beautiful isn’t it?

Let’s take a look at the sphere itself, what difference do you notice? Remember it. We will come back.

There are so many reasons why I love this piece, probably because it was the biggest challenge. Which understandably so the concept of mirroring the external versus internal worlds, this was a direct correlation with my internal imbalance. In short, what does that mean? a beautiful opportunity for growth, it was that insight that allowed me to correct the system, to tinker with the gears of the machine.

Diving deeper art is a meditative experience, the creative ability to hone in focus upon one’s aim. Through this process of working, this creating, utilizing the sacral below. I strengthen my willpower, adding vibrancy to my Manipura with every brush stroke. It is this series of physical actions that allowed many internal changes to have been made through this work. Truly revelating.

The background was made of sunflowers, an interlocking pattern of them. I wanted to add more to the background originally but every time I went in to bring more detail, I started to take away from the balance of the overall piece. The harmony was no longer.
Remember those little colored geometry blocks as a kid? Neither did I till coming back to write this.

That in itself, one of the brief challenges of the will. The need to do too much. A balance is to be struck by allowing this aggression, or effort energy or will, with the sacral the home of creative passions, the exploration of the feminine energy, like sun and moon, to allow this process of creation to take place to still speak and allows itself its own voice.
Developing a symbiotic relationship, you see?

Speaking of harmony how about that blue? ever so subtle but the man did it give me the most ear-splitting grin.

Did you figure out the difference in the sphere?

It’s centered. The place of origin is in the center. it is not bottom or coming from the top but directly centered.

That was completely and utterly unintentional.

I drew the outline of each sphere beforehand, without titles just 7, as I begin a new work I selected from the 7 which was meant for that particular work. This is the only one, the only one, of the 7 that is centered this way.

This is where things get interesting because technically due to the “scales of balance” this is off. Like the heart should be this piece. However, like I said this was the last one to be created, which gave me insight. I complete a micro-cosmic orbit. There was this initial will to create a series of works, from there we let creative juices flow (using the Svadhisthana) to gather the strength to build a solid foundation from which the entire series will stand on its own Muladhara.

We began to shell out the detail working our way back up the energy channel from the backside ( a place more focused on self and self-love) going back up the respective energy channels, till we passed through Anahata, Vishudda, Ajna, and Sahasrara.

From that point, we worked our way back down this time from the front of the body ( a space for focus toward loving others) until I got back to the Manipura. One entire cycle was completed. It started with this abstract idea of will, ended with a physical manifestation of that very will.

Do you know what this means??! This is the very ROAD of creation the actual process that occurs with EVERYTHING. Actually everything.

We get so hung up on how to do things, but the answers are right there within! Both the body and the subtle body give us the road to creating.

The micro-cosmic orbit is a series that can be done in 5 minutes. A powerful technique to balance the body. However, as you see here it can be in more externally fun ways. I went through my own revolution further balancing my own system just by having an act of will to turn an abstract idea into reality.

That is why the Manipura is so powerful, like an infinite sun. Side note: taking that concept of mirroring into play… could it be possible that this talk of the death of the sun was more symbolic of the death of will? In society how many of us properly use our sun?

With that said, another slight difference between this work and the others is the tonal changes and values between the foreground and background. The background has much darker tones than the front.

Another accidental symbolism. I laugh at myself at the beauty of this wicked intelligence I have. Here I am accidentally creating deep symbolism in every brushstroke only to realize its power afterward.

Imagine the background, is the external reality, in today’s society for the majority is often riddled with “dark” or harmful energy. Dark is not harmful at all, nor is it evil, it is no different than “light” energy but I won’t get into that here. I simply will use the term to illustrate my point.

So imagine this world around you is the darkness, the pressures, oppressors, all of it. Only through your will to survive, what the Manipura actually symbolizes, can you begin to thrive. Your willpower acts as the light in the darkness, like the light at the end of the tunnel. This can be in both extreme cases of pressures and anxiety to simple acts of will. Like this particular series, the challenge I faced in each piece, if I had weak will you wouldn’t be reading this. How drab.

There are a plethora of case studies, and stories on the power of will. The inherited ability to say you know what no I don’t want to continue feeling sick I want to feel healthy. SO what do they do use their willpower to enact the hermetic principle that all is mind, the mind is mental? And through continued effort, many results have been achieved. it’s all so fascinating.

Ok, I am out. thankyou for enjoying this with me. I hope you enjoyed my little act of will striving to achieve an honest deep and meaningful balance between light and dark.

How might you add structure to your day to today? one simple act…
